About Zambia

Like Zimbabwe, Zambia also offers visitors the opportunity to view the world's largest waterfall, Victoria Falls. Spectacular from the vantage point of either country, the falls are most beautiful from July through September when water is the most abundant, but they can be fun to visit in November as well, when the waters are at their lowest and the catch basin resembles the Grand Canyon. It's the only time of the year when Zambia's guests can swim in Devil's Pool, a natural infinity pool whose edge meets the breeze at a chilling 105 meter drop.

Unique to Zambia are several national parks, the most famous of which is South Luangwa National Park, throughout which roams the most wildlife of any of the Zambian game parks. Zambia is known by safari aficionados for its walking safaris. Thanks to the strict guiding requirement it is also home to the best guides. Visitors who are lucky enough to have planned their trips for October and November might have the opportunity to experience the Liuwa Pains Wildebeest Migration or the Kasanka Bat Migration, each of which only occurs once per year in Zambia.
