About Zimbabwe

For travelers who are somewhat familiar with Africa, Zimbabwe might immediately bring to mind Victoria Falls, the striking — and perhaps the world's most famous — waterfall nestled in the Zimbabwean National Park, where visitors can also appreciate indigenous wildlife such as zebras, antelopes, elephants, buffalo, and giraffes. Other parks and locations crawling with great safari wildlife include Hwange, Mana Pools, Gonarezhou National Park, Lake Kariba and Matusadona National Park, and the Eastern Highlands.

There is no shortage of activities to experience in Zimbabwe as you explore its natural wonders such as those listed above as well as Chizarira, and Matobo Hills National Parks, the Zimbabwean ruins of Masvingo, the Lower Zambezi Valley, and the Khame Ruins. Adventurous travelers can go white water rafting, bungee jumping, river boarding, abseiling, micro lighting, and most notably walking in the bush tracking wildlife.

Make your way into Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe, and explore the lifestyle of the affluent. The city-center houses a myriad of offices, shops, parks, banks, and restaurants. Many wealthy Zimbabweans reside here, and the city is well-maintained. Harare's attractions include the Harare Gardens, the recreated Shona village at Chapungu Sculpture Park, the National Gallery which highlights African art and traveling exhibits, and the National Botanic Gardens which have 58 hectares of brilliantly beautiful flowers, trees, and shrubs on display.

For an unparalleled cultural experience, wander through Bulowayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe, where you will find a number of fascinating sites such as The Museum of Natural History, the Railway Museum which chronicles the history of steam locomotives, and other museums, artifacts, and examples of modern art.
