Africa

Africa is often mistakenly thought of as one destination. In reality, Africa is a large continent -- so large, in fact, that its size is equivalent to the combined sizes of 18 countries including the USA, China, India, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The continent is made up of 54 individual countries and is divided into five geographic regions: Southern Africa, East Africa, Central Africa, West Africa and North Africa.

For those interested in wild life Southern and East Africa are the go to areas. For those interested in going where few do and want to have that truly immersive cultural experience Central, West and North Africa should be where you head.

Southern Africa is renowned for its wildlife and variety of safari activities such as canoeing, night games drivers, river cruises, and some of the best walking safaris. It is also home to one of the hottest cities in the world, Cape Town and the South Africa Wine and Foodie scene is booming.

The terrain of Southern Africa is varied, ranging from forest, grasslands, delta and big river waterways to deserts. Home to iconic places like the world famous Kruger National Park, Table Mountain, Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River, Luangwa, the Okavango Delta, Kalahari and Namib Deserts and stunning white sand beaches.

East Africa

East Africa is renowned for its massive herds of thundering animals, wide open spaces, Gorillas and chimps in the mist, and herds of elephants roaming under the tallest peak in Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The geography of East Africa is stunning and varied with open plains, scattered volcanoes, soda lakes, montane forest, tropical beaches and desert. Home to the three tallest mountains in Africa: Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Kenya and the Rwenzori Mountains. It also includes the world's second largest freshwater Lake Victoria, the world's second deepest Lake Tanganyika and beautiful beaches along the Indian ocean.

If you are seeking an Out of Africa or Hemingway style of safari, East Africa is your place to go.
